[iOS 14] Calling Troubleshooting

Background

In iOS 14, there is a new one-time prompt to allow Voalte One to find and connect to devices on your local network. If this prompt is not allowed, calling will not function as intended. The prompt can appear in one of three ways on an iOS 14 device - at first launch of Voalte One, by placing your first outbound call or receiving your first inbound call.

Troubleshooting

In order to assist with troubleshooting initiatives when the Local Network is disabled for Voalte One, the following symptoms will be experienced:

Regardless of which device has Local Network disabled, or if both devices have Local Network disabled, the caller will hear no audio while the callee will hear a Call Rescue Prompt “I’m sorry but your party has temporarily lost their wireless connection. Please hold while I try to reconnect your call.” After the reconnecting timer (typically set to 30 seconds) is reached the call will end.

Steps to resolve

Navigate to the native OS settings -> Voalte One -> enable 'Local Network'.
