20210106: Release of Voalte® Mobile Solution 3.7.14

Purpose.

The purpose of this bulletin is to inform all hospital leaders and staff responsible for the support of devices running Voalte Mobile about the upcoming release of Voalte Mobile 3.7.14

Background.

Voalte will release Voalte Mobile 3.7.14 on 01/13/21. This release includes bug fixes and product enhancements.

Impact.

On 1/13/21:

The following changes will take place:

  • iOS Voalte One® Application 3.7.14 will replace Voalte One 3.7.9.

  • iOS Voalte Me® Application 3.7.14 will replace Voalte Me 3.7.11.

  • Android Voalte Me 3.7.14 will replace Voalte Me 3.7.13.

  • Voalte Mobile Server 3.7.14 will replace Voalte Mobile Server 3.7.11.

    • Voalte Mobile Server 3.7.14 is currently only available for iOS Voalte One customers. This will be made available for Android customers at a later time. A bulletin will be sent when the server is available to Android users. Once you have installed Voalte One 3.7.14 on your Android client, you may upgrade to Voalte Mobile Server 3.7.14.

  • Release notes for Voalte Mobile 3.7.14 are available on the Voalte Knowledge Base.

New features and changes in functionality.

This section contains brief descriptions of the new features and changes included in Voalte Mobile 3.7.14.

New feature

  • Chat Message Forwarding

    • Tapping and holding on a chat message will present mobile users with the option to “Forward”. When selected, a new ad hoc text message is created with the body of the original message in the input field of the new chat.

    • NOTE: This is only for the 3.7.14 mobile clients and does not require a 3.7.14 server.

Changes in functionality

  • Update to in-app feedback

    • As announced in the previous bulletin, Voalte In-App Feedback, Voalte is changing in-app feedback in the release of 3.7.14 to enable end-users to voice their opinion on the product. All in-app feedback will be routed to the Voalte Product team. In-app feedback should not be used for production issues experienced by end-users. Production issues should be directed to the hospital’s help desk or to the Voalte Support team

      • Any production issues that need to be reported to the Voalte Support team should be done through the help desk portal, email, or by calling the help desk.

    • After your Voalte Mobile app upgrades to 3.7.14, any submissions using in-app feedback will be treated as non-critical end-user feedback about the product.

    • After your Voalte Mobile app upgrades to 3.7.14, customers whose Feedback button is currently disabled will have a functioning in-app Feedback button.  Customers who wish for end-user issues to be reported to the hospital help desk should encourage users to follow hospital procedures.

    • Note: Currently, we do not plan to have an option to disable this feature. We find direct end-user feedback very valuable at Voalte. Hearing from end-users will help us better understand areas of improvement.

    • Note: We will not be able to offer a log of submitted feedback from your site.  

Validations.

Operating systems.

iOS

  • iOS Voalte Me 3.7.14 is supported on iPhones running iOS 13.1 and iOS 14.0 and above.

  • iOS Voalte One 3.7.14 is supported on iPhones running iOS 13.1 and iOS 14.0 and above.

IMPORTANT! iOS Voalte Me and iOS Voalte One are not supported on iOS version 13.0.

Specific iOS validated versions and iPhone models supported are listed in the Voalte Knowledge Base.

Android

  • Android Voalte Me 3.7.14 is supported on devices running Nougat and above.

The list of validated Android patches can be found on the Voalte Knowledge Base.

Voalte Mobile Server versions.

Voalte Me 3.7.14 and iOS Voalte One 3.7.14 are supported on Voalte Mobile Server versions 3.5 through 3.7.14.

Note: Voalte Mobile Server 3.7.14 is not supported on mobile clients prior to 3.7.14.

Voalte One.

iOS Voalte One customers with compatible operating systems can upgrade to Voalte One 3.7.14 starting 01/13/21.

Voalte Me.

Most devices with Voalte Me will update automatically starting 01/13/21. Please encourage your users to update their devices if they are not set for automatic updates.

Hospital administrators who would like access to Voalte Me for testing prior to the release should fill out the sign-up form here. If you have already signed up for Early Access, you should be able to test the upcoming release of Voalte Me today.

Voalte Mobile Server.

iOS Voalte One 3.7.14 customers can begin requesting Voalte Mobile Server 3.7.14 upgrades starting 01/13/21.
