20210505: iOS Voalte Mobile Solution Security Changes 

Purpose.

The purpose of this bulletin is to inform all hospital leaders and staff responsible for the support of iOS devices running Voalte Mobile® Solution about recent security changes in 3.7.14+.

Background.

To comply with Apple’s App Transport Security protocols, iOS Voalte Mobile version 3.7.14 includes a security change to prevent http:// links from loading in in-app web views. Further security changes were added in the release of 3.7.17 to not accept self-signed certificates.

Note: iOS Voalte Mobile 3.7.17 includes both security changes.

Impact.

Sites using http:// links or self-signed certificates within Voalte Mobile (iOS) will not load. Sites should begin working to implement https:// links and certificates signed by a Certificate Authority (CA) prior to planning an application upgrade.
