How do I find the last logged-in user for a device or the device history for a user?

Find the last logged-in user for a device using endpoints.

Applies to customers with Voalte Platform Server versions: 3.6 and 3.7

An endpoint is any mobile phone or desktop machine that has access to Voalte Platform. Once an

endpoint connects to Voalte Platform and is logged in, it appears automatically on the Endpoints screen.

This screen shows endpoints that are currently connected or have been connected to your Voalte Platform in the past. You can use this to see who is currently using a device or who used it last, to

track down a missing device.

The Endpoints page serves as a tool for locating specific devices and users associated with that device.

To view your hospital’s endpoints, click Manage -> Endpoints.

Search endpoints.

Use the Search field if you are looking for a specific endpoint or aspect of an endpoint, such as an

operating system. You can search by:

Endpoint ID (MAC address for Voalte Messenger, serial number for Android devices, friendly name for iPhone)
IP address
Operating system version
Username
Display name

For example, if you are looking for Voalte users who are using a device with iOS 11.3.1, you can

enter “11.3.1” into the Search field. The results show all users on iOS 11.3.1 devices, which will

help determine if the device needs to be upgraded to the latest operating system.

View all endpoints.

To see a complete list of endpoints, you must first load the endpoints. When you open the Endpoints page, sample data is displayed. To see relevant information, click Load All Endpoints on the right side of the page. You will need to do this every time the page is accessed and you are not performing a search.

Once all the endpoints are loaded, you can sort them by clicking the appropriate header.

View a result

After performing a search or loading all endpoints, you will see important information about the endpoints.

To see additional detail, click the endpoint.

After an endpoint is selected, a panel will expand to display additional information about the current and previous user, such as:

Display name
Current status
Current and previous user location (units signed into)
Login time
Logout time (if relevant)
Length of time logged in (duration)

To close the panel, click the gray X at the top right.

Note: Endpoints only shows the last two users who signed into a device. If you need to see which devices a specific user has signed into, it may make more sense to use the user inspector, described below.

Find the device history for a user using user inspector.

Applies to customers with Voalte Platform Server version 3.7.

The History tab of the User Inspector shows a list of devices that are currently connected or have been connected to your Voalte Platform in the past for a specific user.

To view the user inspector for a particular user:

Click Manage Users.
Locate the user.
Click in the user’s record (row) to display contact information and additional options.
Click Inspect to open the User Inspector window and navigate to the information you need to view.
Click History.
