We are aware that two Welch Allyn assigned phone numbers (not in use) are being presented as a Caller ID 315 685-4526 and 315 685-4500 to random external individuals. Please know this is not an authorized call from Welch Allyn. Most often, we have heard, the caller is claiming to be with Microsoft and want information from and about the customers computer. Please let the customer know we have not initiated the call and here are guidelines by the Federal Communications Commission about spoofed caller IDs.

When people call these numbers back they will now hear this message:
- It has come to our attention that someone may be fraudulently using the Welch Allyn company name and this phone number. No one from Welch Allyn has called you, especially from this number, as this is a non-working number at Welch Allyn. Additionally, Welch Allyn has reported this fraudulent activity to the FCC

What can I do if I suspect a violation of caller ID rules?
If you have caller ID and receive a call from a telemarketer without the required caller ID information, if you suspect that Caller ID information has been falsified, or you think the rules for protecting the privacy of your telephone number have been violated, you can file a complaint with the FCC.
