Voalte Mobile and Epic integrations

 

Voalte Mobile offers many integrations with Epic, ranging from lightweight inter-app to deep ADT integrations. This article outlines some of the main integrations and steps to get started.

How to get started: Configuration requires working with a Voalte representative. 

 

Displaying and assigning the care team in Voalte Mobile using an ADT feed from Epic

  • Stay connected with the entire care team
  • Search directory by patient name and view patients in various units
  • Integrate with existing systems via ADT with workflows designed for room and patient-centric approaches
  • Automatically assign care team members to patients in Voalte based on EHR information
  • Add patient context to group and 1:1 chats started from a patient

How to get started: Configuration requires working with a Voalte representative. Reach out to your Voalte representative to discuss options, scope, and depth of integration.

 

When viewing a care team member in Epic Rover or Haiku, add the option to quickly link to Voalte care team members.

Add a button to Epic Rover and Haiku care team members which link to the corresponding Voalte One and Voalte Me user. Deep-link to their user profile, or directly to a call or text with the user.

How to get started: Ask your Epic TS to access the Integration Configuration screen and under PATIENTOPENURL, enter the following depending on what behavior you would prefer. 

 

Launch the Epic My Patients list from the Patient care team view in Voalte Mobile.

How to get started: If your system is running version 3.7 and you are syncing patient information from Epic to Voalte, you can enable this feature by opening up Voalte Admin and navigating to Patient Interapp.
 
From there, you can map a button over to Epic by adding the following actions:
  • epicRover://launch/patientlist (used alongside Voalte One)
  • epicHaiku://launch/patientlist (used alongside Voalte Me)

Receive a Voalte Alert where one of the responses takes the user to Epic In Basket to allow quick review and signing of orders.

  • Deep Linking with Epic alerts
  • Respond to an HL7 alert and directly launch the Epic Rover/Haiku In Basket 
  • View and sign the order

How to get started: Add a button to your WCTP alert configuration with the following actionURI on MCR (multiple-choice response) alerts you wish to deep-link into Epic In Basket: epicHaiku://launch/inbasket

Note: Configuring an alert response to launch Epic requires middleware.
